Dr. Praveen
Karebasannanavar
Ramachandrappa
Emerging from the heartland of Karnataka, India, Praveen's artistic odyssey began during his early childhood. His earliest inspiration and classical training were bestowed upon him by his father, the maestro R S Karebasannanavar. After graduating from the National Institute of Technology, he embarked on a career as a Design Engineer in India, gaining valuable experience over four years. In 2019, Praveen relocated to Milton Keynes, England, to pursue a Ph.D. sponsored by a French industry at The Open University, which marked a significant turning point in his artistic journey. Currently working on projects in Northern Ireland.
It was during the early stages of his Ph.D. that Praveen's dormant artistic talent was rekindled, thanks to the introspective moments brought on by the pandemic. His portfolio predominantly features figurative works, some of which delve into illustration and metaphor, aiming to convey intentions through the silent language of art, inviting viewers to explore their own interpretations. Since 2020, he has drawn inspiration from the Paint Out - Norfolk event, steering his focus towards plein air painting.
One of his notable achievements includes his participation in 'SKY ARTS LANDSCAPE ARTIST OF THE YEAR,' Britain's TV show. Praveen was selected as a Reserve Pod Artist in episodes 3 & 6 and a Wild Card Artist in episode 3 of Series 8, standing out from a pool of 3000 artists across the UK. Another significant milestone was his lockdown painting, titled 'SANATIVE,' which was selected and showcased in the 2020 open stage online gallery of the prestigious Bristol Old Victoria Theatre, a leading arts school in the UK. Praveen's accolades also include securing the first place in a national-level painting competition at IISc, Bangalore, India, in 2010, as well as winning 71 prizes in state, district, and zone-level competitions across India.
In his leisure time, Praveen finds joy in dancing at Base Studios - Vauxhall in London. To explore more about his academic and research pursuits, please follow the provided link.
