Working Process

Praveen primarily works with water-based media, with occasional forays into oils. His creative process often begins by establishing a light base color in the initial wash, which frequently represents the sky. In the second wash, he introduces medium-dark colors through a wet-on-wet technique, before moving on to intricate detailing. On occasion, he incorporates opaque acrylics alongside transparent watercolors to emphasize the darker elements of the subject. Most of his works start with an initial sketch.

Praveen's artistic vision centers on creating a well-defined structure with pronounced monochromatic touch, often enriched with shades of green. His toolkit includes tubes, brushes, spray, and, occasionally, masking fluid. He works at a moderate pace, typically spending around 6 hours on plein air pieces and dedicating 7 to 20 hours in the studio, depending on the complexity of the work.

These days, Praveen's works often exhibit a figurative style with a subtle touch of impressionism or contemporary elements, though they aren't limited to these genres. Explore his portfolio to witness the depth and diversity of his artistic journey.
